"Do
you believe in angels? I certainly do. I have experienced
angels at work many times as they have cushioned the blow when I've fallen over
400 times on concrete, marble, bricks, asphalt, wood, and ground of every kind
-- without ever breaking a bone!
Angels
are watching over us. Everywhere we go and whatever we do, we have
God's angels protecting us. Hebrews 1:14 states "are they not
all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of
salvation?"
The
Scriptures are replete with accounts of the Angels making appearances to God's
people.
For example, two angels came to Lot to
rescue him and his family from God's judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah
. An angel came to Gideon to prepare him for battle. An
angel was in the lion's den with Daniel and in the fiery furnace with Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego. Angels are spoken of in the Old Testament as
having great wisdom "knowing all things in the
earth." II Samuel 14:20. They have great strength (Psalm
103:20) and are very fast. Daniel 9:21.
From
Hebrews 12:22, we know that there are “an innumerable company of angels” and
that they serve as each of our guardian angels. Psalm 34:7 and 91:11. As
Christians, who are "heirs of salvation," they minister to us.
In the
New Testament, they make many appearances as well. The angel Gabriel
came to both Mary and Joseph. An angel appeared to Elizabeth and her
husband to announce the birth of John the Baptist. Of course there
was a multitude of angels that announced the birth of Jesus. An
angel loosed the bonds of Peter and led him out of
prison. Revelation 2:1 indicates they are present in each church.
Angels escort each believer after they die into the presence of the
Lord. Luke 16:22 and II Corinthians 5:8.
This
Saturday night, I experienced the Angels at work in saving my life in a
harrowing car accident.
Hit-and-Run
Car Crash
While
driving home from dropping my son Jesse off at the church youth Christmas
party. I was driving on a two-way highway, about 20 minutes from my home. The
speed limit was 55 and I was in the process of passing a car (had actually
passed it), and was making my way back into my lane when a car appeared out of
the darkness, pulling out of a driveway. It hit me squarely on the left front end
of my van. My airbags went off. The crash was so loud, my ears kept ringing for
3 days.
Miraculously, I was able to maneuver the van back into
the right lane and bring it to a stop---------with both front tires blown,
sliding 75 yards or more. My arms were unusually strong and sturdy as I fought
the wheel to keep the car from flipping.
My car
was totaled and I hit none of the other vehicles on the road. I had no broken
bones. No blood. I had been traveling approximately 60
mph when the car hit me. The police officer on the scene said these
type of accidents usually results in mangled drivers -- and death.
I know it was angels watching over me. It was
God's angels steering my car to safety. God sent his "ministering
spirits" to help me in my time of need. During the whole
time, God gave me an incredible "peace that passes all
understanding."
The woman who was driving behind me and(I had just passed her) stopped to see if I was OK, and said she saw a car pull out of the driveway and hit me but nothing more. The police arrived and tried to find the vehicle that hit me but were never able to find it! They asked around the area houses where the collision occurred, but nobody knew anything about a vehicle coming or going------or lied to protect the "hit and run driver.
A good friend of mine , Tracy Johnson, happened to be on duty with the police and was called to assist me in at the accident scene and write up the report. I asked why someone would hit another vehicle and then just disappear, and he replied that probably the driver was drunk or on drugs, or they might be an illegal alien or might have something in their vehicle (like drugs or something else) that they don't want discovered

An
Impromptu Missionary Trip!
While,
I was stuck in the car, I was able to talk to the firemen about the
Lord. I gave God all the glory for protecting me and taking over at
the wheel so I could control the car during and after the crash.
Then I
was taken to the emergency room in an ambulance --- and the whole time of the
20 minute trip to the hospital, I was able to share the gospel of
Jesus Christ! There were two women paramedics and one man in the
back of the ambulance with me. I asked them if they knew where they
were going when they died. They were not sure. So I told
them how I knew I was going to heaven where there was no more tears or sorrow—I
would get a brand new body too. I testified how God’s angels had
protected me in that terrible accident. I spoke of how short life
was and how long hell was.
I
quoted many Scriptures to them, as I lay strapped tightly to a stiff
board. I told them Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
I had
a captivated audience!
Then I was wheeled into the hospital on the
stretcher. God gave me more opportunities to give him the glory for
sparing me in the ordeal as I talked with the nurses and
doctors. When I was getting x-rays come up. I continue to
praise the Lord and learned that the technician was a believer. We
are able to give God the glory together!
After the doctor review the x-rays, she gave me leave to
go. My x-rays showed that I had no broken bones or major
injuries! How could that be, in light of the severity of the
accident, and the high speed? It was God and God alone. There
is no question that He had His angels watching over me!
Although I was stiff and sore, I was able to receive help
from the chiropractor for my whiplash -- he also reset my dislocated hip and
shoulder and sore knee.
God was good. God is always
good. God gives and takes away; Blessed be the name of the Lord!

Stop Our 15 Passenger Van`
This incident reminds me of a time, about 10 years ago
when my wife was driving are 15 passenger van with us. Five of our children
in an. I was driving behind in my truck with my son
Jesse. My wife went around a curve, and suddenly there was a car in
front of her turning to the left. My wife tried to swerve, but hit them in
their back corner, and the van went sliding toward a deep
ditch. Incredibly, the van stopped only a few feet away from the
ditch. There'd actually been a dirt road that she was able to drive
on off of the main road as she headed for the
ditch.
I got out of the truck, and walked to the front of the
vehicle to check out the damage. To my surprise, I saw the drag
marks of two sets of footprints in front of the van just before the deep 3 1/2
foot ditch. I
knew God had sent 2 angels to literally stand in front of the van and stop it
from going over the edge!
If the van had gone over the edge into the ditch, there
would have been members of my family hurt.
Yes, God takes care of his children. Many
times He uses His angels to intervene on our behalf. It will be a
wonderful thing in heaven to find out how many times. God's angels
protected us throughout our life from mishaps, injuries, and worse.
Praise God, the Maker of Heaven and
Earth and our Redeemer!
